Ciao, my name is Francesca, I’m Italian and I’m an Intern in Corporate Communications at Vifor Pharma.
Since high school I’ve always had a great passion and interest for life science subjects. I realised that what I wanted most in life was doing something meaningful and valuable for someone else. And what’s best than helping people live a healthier life. That’s why I did my Bachelor degree in pharmaceutical biotechnology in Naples and then I continued my studies with a Master degree in Communications and Management applied to the health sector.
I decided to work for Vifor Pharma because I was really fascinated and impressed by the strong history in iron therapies and iron products and how they applied this expertise across other therapeutic areas, meeting unmet needs of patients across the world.
For me, working in Corporate Communications means that every day is different. I have a broad variety of tasks from supporting and planning communication strategies or creating visuals for the website to writing articles for the social media channels. And that’s great, because I never get bored.
I like working here because I feel trusted and valued for my skills and efforts. But also because, although I’m an intern, I’m involved in many challenging and meaningful projects that fulfil my drive to grow and learn professionally. This also gives me the feeling of doing something meaningful and valuable.
What I also like about working here is that we have a very friendly environment. Colleagues are not just colleagues, but they are friends. We have fun together, we play table football, we meet for lunch, we laugh and chat – we really have a good time.
My advice to other graduates is to really get the most out of your first work experience. Try to get yourself involved in as many projects as possible. Only with a can-do-attitude you can really grow and learn professionally.
I’m proud to work at Vifor Pharma.
