On 28 January 2020, Vifor Pharma participated as Platinum Sponsor to the 11th edition of the Zurich Life Science Day, the largest Swiss job fair for life science, chemistry and biology students, post-graduates and young professionals.
This was the first time that Vifor Pharma took part at such event, and our participation reflects our growth ambitions and our commitment to attract and engage with top talents.
“Our employees are our most important asset, their knowledge and skills have made our global successes and achievements possible. It was a privilege for colleagues from Vifor Pharma to directly interact with talented students interested in a career in the pharma industry.” said Michael Puri, Chief Human Resource Officer, Vifor Pharma Group.
Who did we meet at the Life Science Fair?
We engaged with hundreds of enthusiastic booth visitors, both graduates and experienced individuals who were interested in joining our company.
“Living the company Values was at the heart of the event, as teamwork ensured that different colleagues from HR, Communications, Medical and Regulatory Affairs actively answered questions, discussed career opportunities and shared information about working at Vifor Pharma with attendees. This was a fantastic opportunity to meet candidates, we are looking forward to attending the next Life Science Day!” said Carolina Ponchione, Head of Talent Acquisition.
Raun Kupiec, Head of Global Regulatory Affairs at Vifor Pharma, also represented the company as Keynote Speaker of the informative lecture on “Careers in Regulatory Affairs”, in which he shared with the students his experience in European and Global Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development and Drug Safety.
Why was the event important for Vifor Pharma to attend?
As we continue on our journey to help patients around the world with severe and chronic diseases lead better and healthier lives – it is important that we get in touch with new talents who will support our growth and will lead our company to many future successes.
Therefore, we conducted on site face-to-face interviews for an open Post-Doc position in Research and Developmentwith PhD candidates who had an impressive profile and who showed high interest during the booth visit, and the most talented one will soon join Vifor Pharma!
Finally, as leaders in iron deficiency, we showed our commitment in raising awareness on this under diagnosed condition by offering a free on-site ferritin test which was very much appreciated by the students.
What was the feedback from the participants?
Over the last few weeks we received fantastic feedback from students, who were very impressed by Vifor Pharma’s culture and who really enjoyed meeting our team in an atmosphere characterized by living our Values.
Some highlights included:
“As a final-year Biology student, I had always thought that if I were to work within the pharmaceutical industry, my role would be limited to a clinical one, however after meeting the recruitment team I am now convinced there are other exciting routes I could take.”
“I enjoyed meeting the Talent team at Vifor Pharma, it was a great opportunity to get feedback on my CV to know what recruiters and companies are actually looking for. I would recommend attending the Life Science Day to any interested life science graduate.”
